THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE MET TO USE THE 1 AND 2GB KITS:
The Octane R12000 (270MHz+) CPU was factory installed/configured. (Systems upgraded from older R10000 CPU to the R12000 CPU do not support the 1 and 2GB kits.)
Higher capacity modules must be installed first. Bank 1 must be fully populated before Bank 2 can be populated. Banks must be fully populated.
The workstation must be running version 6.5.6 or later of the IRIX operating system.
Note: IRIX 6.5.6 requires a software patch off the SGI Patch CD to install 6GB or more in the system. The patch is not required in IRIX 6.5.7 or higher. |
